The Live Lab: rules

The Live Lab lets Proof First students practice the work-first method on real accounts from the Dependables pipeline: consumer brands that already have a finished site, growth plan and ad concepts built for them.

The three guardrails

1. The selling seat is free and separate. Anyone can apply to sell for Dependables at sales.meetthedependables.com, course or no course. Buying Proof First never gets you a seat, and you don't need Proof First to apply. Live Lab students go through the same application.
2. No pay for recruiting tied to the course. Course students never earn anything from other people buying the course, and never earn overrides on reps they bring in through the course.
3. Brand safety. Lab students only work accounts assigned to them, only use the approved templates, and send from an address Dependables approves. Nothing goes to a founder that a Dependables reviewer hasn't seen for your first 10 sends.

How it works

1. Apply. Pass the free seat application at sales.meetthedependables.com. Finish Modules 3 and 4 first so you have a portfolio.
2. Get 10 accounts. Each one already has a live site and plan built for it.
3. Send the work-first email. Your first 10 sends are reviewed before they go out.
4. Book, then shadow. When a founder replies and books, a senior closer runs the call and you shadow it. After you pass a recorded mock call, you take calls yourself.
5. Get paid like any rep. If an account you worked closes, you earn the standard seat commission in the published seat terms. Lab students are paid exactly like every other rep. No more, no less.
6. Keep your numbers. Sends, replies, meetings booked, closes. These are yours to put on LinkedIn and in interviews anywhere.

What the Lab is not

• Not a job and not a promise of one.
• Not a paid internship and not unpaid work: you're paid commission on what closes, on the same terms as any rep, and nothing if nothing closes.
• Not required. Practice accounts (Module 8) teach the same skill.

Commission terms are the published Dependables seat terms and can change. They are not typical results. Check contractor and tax rules with a professional where you live.
